Cross-sectional shape: circular. Classified by material: plain structural steel pipes, low-alloy structural steel pipes, alloy steel pipes. Classified by application: pipes for engineering structures, thermal equipment, machinery manufacturing, geological exploration, etc. Classified by production process: seamless steel pipes and welded steel pipes. Seamless steel pipes are further divided into hot-rolled and cold-rolled types. Welded steel pipes are subdivided into straight seam welded pipes and spiral seam welded pipes. Steel pipes also represent an economical steel material.
