Compared with the lattice grid structure, the pipe truss structure can meet the requirements of various architectural forms as it saves the ball nodes of bottom chord longitudinal bar and lattice grid. Circular arch construction and arbitrary curve shapes are more advantageous than the lattice grid structure for their common stability and material saving property. It is developed on the basis of lattice grid structure, thus featuring by unique superiority and practicability and requiring more economic steel consumption.
Compared with the traditional steel truss with open sections (H-type steel and I-type steel), the pipe truss structure section is evenly distributed around the neutral axis, so the section can enjoy good compression and bending resistance and bearing capacity as well as large stiffness. It can be easily made without requiring gusset plate. Most importantly, the pipe truss structure has attractive appearance and certain decorative effect, well overall property, and great torsional rigidity, easy to be manufactured, installed, turned over, and lifted. The steel-pipe roof structure made of thin-walled coldformed steel enjoys such advantages as light weight, good rigidity, and steel saving.
